About Caroline
Passion For Art
I am a York based artist with roots in the Northeast of England who, following a career as a scientist, returned to the easel in 2010, experimenting and self-learning with oil painting media, followed by more formal teaching from a local artist. My passion for painting stretches back to my childhood, where I was taught by, and painted with my father.
Media
I work from my home studio, primarily with oil paints, enjoying the depth and tones of pigments, brush strokes and movement of paint on the canvas. I take much of my inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, believing mother nature to be the greatest artist and enjoy capturing the wonderful variety of colours presented to me by water, coastal structures, and vivid skies.
Activities
In 2025, I am part of York Open Studios which gives me the opportunity to welcome visitors and discuss my painting inspirations and techniques as well as having my work available to purchase.
Between May and July my work will be on display in the cafe area at Cycle Heaven in YORK (www.cycle-heaven.co.uk) and will be available to be purchsed.
